Rock the Pole with Cleo The Hurricane!
Famous Pole Dancers:
Who do you admire and why?
So I know everyone who starts pole dancing ends up looking at countless hours of pole dancing videos to get ideas for the next big move or just to admire some of the great dancers. Personally I have a few favorite dancers but by far my absolute favorite is Cleo The Hurricane.
Cleo is such an inspiration to me because she does things her way! She does not accept that there is only one way to pole dance. She does not accept that you have to follow the rules. The main reason I came across Cleo was my search for someone who danced to some ROCK music.
I love me some Rob Zombie or Marylin Manson but the rock music that I saw in pole videos at the time was no heavier than a little Nickleback. Now don’t get me wrong I like all kinds of rock music but I wanted to learn some moves that translated well to some heavier music.
I love the studio I learned all the basics of pole dance from and I have nothing bad to say about the teaching there, in fact I still have a lot to learn and still attend when I have time. What I was looking for though was something that would teach me how to adapt or modify what I already learned to the style of music I liked.
Dancing is not my strong suit the strength and power pole moves are what I excel in. My dance teacher is awesome but I have found her style is not what I want when I design my own routines!
Inspiration from Cleo
What I have learned from Cleo is not that I want to copy her style but that I want to create my own style over time just like she has. I may have to start with what I know but as I keep learning new styles I can take them and make them my own.
Cleo has her own brand and she has done well with it yet she is still so kind to her fans! I found this to be true when I bought her videos and was invited to a Facebook community. Fellow dancers help motivate each other and ask questions and Cleo often personally interacts with her fans! Then I joined her online studio where I continue to get help when I run into a problem with my dancing and again Cleo usually responds to the dancers in her community.
There are many reasons I admire Cleo, I will share more in future posts reviewing all the many ways to learn from Cleo!
